RACING RULES & RESPONSIBILITIES

All races organized and conducted by the Erieau Yacht Club are operated under its Sailing Instructions and the Racing Rules of Sailing 2021-2024 (RRS) published by World Sailing. Participants by virtue of entering an EYC sanctioned race agree to abide by these rules and are advised to be aware in particular to RRS section 3 Acceptance of the Rules, RRS section 4 Decision to Race, and EYC sailing instructions 10.

Disclaimer of Liability - 10.1 Competitors participate in all races entirely at their own risk. The organizing authority, and the Erieau Yacht Club, it’s officers, employees, officials and volunteers will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after racing, either ashore or on the water. By deciding to enter a race, and continuing to compete, every boat owner, boat occupant, and competitor expressly waives and agrees to hold harmless, the organizers.

CODE OF CONDUCT

The ongoing success of the EYC requires its members to contribute to a safe and enjoyable environment. This includes but is not limited to adherence to laws and club rules, as well as behaviour that is respectful, fair, and considerate. Any member in violation of this requirement is at risk of dismissal from the EYC.

Any concerns related to this requirement should be communicated directly to an EYC Flag Officer or Board Member.
