Here at the EYC it’s not just the kids who get to have fun sailing, that’s right we offer Adult Programs!
The Erieau Yacht Club Adult Sailing Program follows the CANSail Learn to Sail program. We offer a variety of programs that will best fit your experience, whether you are new to sailing or want to continue developing your skills, we are here help. Learn to sail on the beautiful Rondeau Bay with our experienced and certified instructors.
CANSail certificates are awarded upon successful completion of a set of practical skills and demonstrated knowledge at each level.
Beginner’s Course
Are you new to sailing and want to learn the basics? This is a great place for you! This course is designed to teach the basics of dinghy sailing at CANSail level 1. Including boat/water safety, boat balance, sail trim, knots, docking, sailing terminology, and more! These skills are taught in small class sizes of 10 by our team of qualified and experienced instructors.
Prerequisites: None
Ages: 15+
Lessons: Two-week sessions (12 hours of sailing) Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5pm – 8pm
Session 1: July 1st, July 3rd, July 8th, and July 10th.
Session 2: July 29th, July 31st, August 5th, and August 7th.
Price: $350 members, $395 non-members
Advanced Course
This course continues to build off of CANsail 1 which will help sailors continue developing skills. Including, sail trim, heading up/bearing off, stopping and starting, seamanship and more! These skills are taught in small class sizes of 10 by our team of qualified and
experienced instructors.
Prerequisites: CANsail 1+
Ages: 15+
Lessons: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5pm – 8pm over 2 weeks (12 hours of sailing)
Session 1: July 16th, July 18th, July 23rd and July 25th.
Session 2: August 13th, August 15th, August 20th, and August 22nd.
Price: $349 members, $395 non-members
Private Lessons
Private lessons are an excellent option for individuals who have completed a beginner course and seek to further refine their skills or to begin learning the basics of sailing. The one-on-one setting ensures that the instructor can provide personalized attention and immediate feedback, leading to faster progress. With a customized learning plan, flexibility in scheduling, and a focus on individual needs, private lessons enhance confidence and safety, making them an optimal choice for those seeking efficient skill enhancement in activities such as dinghy sailing.

Ages: 5+
Lessons: Private lessons are scheduled with agreed times and dates between instructors and adults/parents in 2hr blocks.
Price:
One adult/child: $50 per hour
Two adults/child $40 per hour EACH
Three or more adults/child $35 per hour EACH
