Dear Members,
The EYC Board of Directors have two orders of business that need to be brought to the attention of the Membership.

1. As a result of last year’s AGM it was suggested in the Financial Review that our membership dues should at minimum cover our general operating expenses. For many years this has not been the case and as an outcome from the ensuing discussion at the AGM the Board has decided to raise fees by approximately 10% to bring us onside with fees and expenses.

You can use this link to download the 2014 membership registration form that contains the updated fees.

2. As most of you know in 2012 we updated our By-laws to make them more complete and to ensure we were onside with proposed Provincial changes to the Non-profit act. After a year of operating under these by-laws it was determined that there were some issues brought forward and opportunities for improvement. Over the course of the winter Karen Benson Chaired a sub-committee to review and revise the by-laws and has come up with new by-laws that were approved by the Board of Directors on May 20th, 2014. Per our existing by-laws, the membership must approve these changes.

The Board will hold a Special General Meeting on Sunday July 13th after the races at 2pm at the Erieau Yacht Club. The meeting will provide an opportunity for an open discussion and vote on adopting the new by-laws for the 2015 season immediately following the 2014 AGM. In the interim please review the by-laws and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly.

You can use this link to download the proposed by-laws:

Thank you and I look forward to seeing you at the opening BBQ on June 28th

Kindest Regards,

John Graham
